 We are a certified Stable Moments location—a trauma-informed mentorship program dedicated to helping foster and adopted children build essential life skills and reclaim a sense of belonging.

With nearly 400,000 children in foster care across the U.S., many face uncertain futures without consistent, nurturing support. Stable Moments is on a mission to change that—one child, one mentor, one hour at a time.

Stable Moments is a 4-month mentorship program designed specifically for youth who have experienced early developmental trauma, often due to foster care or adoption. Each child is paired with a trained mentor who meets with them one hour a week, providing a safe, stable, and supportive relationship they can count on.

Through structured sessions and tailored activities, children build life skills and confidence to help them overcome challenges and thrive.

• Individualized Plan of Care: Every child receives a plan that meets their unique needs and developmental goals.
• Color-Coded Life Skill Activities: Sessions are guided by engaging activities targeting specific areas of growth.
• Weekly Consistency: One mentor. One hour a week. Ten months of stability.
• Focus on Critical Life Skills: Self-worth, responsibility, emotional regulation, and independence.

By investing in children at this critical stage, we can break the cycle of trauma and create a generation of resilient, empowered adults.

Our trauma-informed model is built on principles proven to help children with unstable beginnings:

We meet each child where they are—and walk with them toward where they can go.

Each mentorship relationship is focused on developing six core life skill areas:

As children build these skills, they begin to believe they matter—and when they believe that, they’re more likely to succeed in adulthood and less likely to pass trauma on to the next generation. That’s how we end the foster care crisis—by starting with the individual child.

You don’t have to be a foster parent to make a difference. Stable Moments offers a way for everyday community members to step up and support foster and adopted youth.
